On our first day, bright and early in the morning, we were all seated in the great conference room at ARS all ready to learn. Our main presenter and project coordinator was Craig Wilson. The principal investigators were Dr. Robert James and Dr. Charles Onstad. We were also introduced to Dr. Bill LaShier who was the outside evaluator from the University of Kansas. One of our first activities was Wisconsin Fast Plants. The reason they are called fast plants is because they go through their whole cycle, from seed to seed in just 35 days.
